Parador de Málaga Golf
★★★★☆
Golf Resort
Málaga, Spain
A Mediterranean golf resort with direct beach access, historic fairways, sea-view terraces, Andalusian dining, and a seasonal pool.
About the hotel
Set directly on the Mediterranean coast in Málaga's Churriana district, Parador de Málaga Golf occupies an unusual position between the sea and its own golf course. The property sits around 10 km from central Málaga, with direct access to a sandy beach and easy connections towards Torremolinos and the wider Costa del Sol. Its low-rise setting, lawns and open fairways give it a markedly different atmosphere from the city's urban hotels.
Golf has shaped the identity of the property for almost a century. The course originated during the 1920s, when plans were developed partly in response to Princess Beatrice of Battenberg's winter visits to Málaga. Harry Colt advised on the original layout, with construction beginning in the late 1920s, before T. Simpson later reconstructed and redesigned the course after the Spanish Civil War. The second nine holes entered service in 1964, completing what is now regarded as Andalusia's oldest golf course.
The hotel itself is arranged as bungalows across three connected two-storey buildings, keeping the architecture low against the surrounding course. Its 88 rooms span Standard Double, Superior Double and Junior Suite categories, with each accommodation opening onto a private terrace and offering individual access towards the golf course. Sea and fairway views, terracotta tones and straightforward contemporary interiors maintain the property's emphasis on its outdoor setting.
The golf facilities remain the defining experience. Alongside the historic 18-hole Old Course, the property has a separate 9-hole Links course, three putting greens, two approach greens and practice facilities, with equipment and buggy rental available. Black Iron Golf also operates training programmes on site. Away from the fairways, guests have access to a seasonal outdoor pool, tennis and padel courts, gardens, direct beach access and Andalusian dining overlooking the Mediterranean.
Today, Parador de Málaga Golf is particularly well suited to golfers, couples, families and travellers looking to combine a Costa del Sol beach stay with convenient access to Málaga. Its appeal lies in the ability to move directly between room, fairway and coast, while the airport and city remain close enough for shorter stays or the beginning and end of a wider Andalusian journey.

Creator experience
“Parador de Málaga Golf offered a peaceful escape surrounded by greenery and the calm atmosphere of the golf course. I loved waking up to such tranquil surroundings, where everything seemed to encourage a slower pace. The traditional character of the hotel and beautifully maintained spaces added to its charm, creating a stay where golf, nature, and relaxation came together effortlessly and made it easy to completely disconnect.”
