Nature Retreat

Plaine, France

Nestled in the forests of the Vosges Mountains, Nutchel Alsace invites guests to disconnect from everyday life through cosy woodland cabins, slow living, and immersive nature experiences.

About the hotel

Hidden within seven hectares of forest overlooking the Bruche Valley, Nutchel Alsace offers a peaceful escape in the heart of the Vosges Mountains. Surrounded by century-old trees and scenic hiking trails, the retreat enjoys a secluded location while remaining close to the Alsace Wine Route, Strasbourg, and some of northeastern France’s most picturesque villages.

Designed around the philosophy of “disconnect to reconnect”, Nutchel encourages guests to embrace a slower rhythm of life. Rather than traditional hotel accommodation, the property features thoughtfully designed wooden cabins where candlelight, wood-burning stoves, and panoramic windows replace unnecessary distractions, allowing nature to take centre stage.

The forest village comprises beautifully crafted cabins accommodating between two and six guests, many featuring private hot tubs or rooftop terraces. Shared facilities include wellness saunas, a natural cold bath, outdoor play areas, walking trails, and cosy communal spaces, all designed to encourage relaxation and outdoor living throughout the seasons.

What distinguishes Nutchel Alsace is its complete immersion in nature without sacrificing comfort. Guests are encouraged to spend their days hiking, cycling, gathering around campfires, enjoying locally sourced food baskets, or simply unwinding with uninterrupted views across the surrounding mountains.

Today, Nutchel Alsace is best suited to couples, families, nature lovers, and travellers looking to slow down, reconnect with the outdoors, and experience one of France’s most distinctive cabin retreats.

Creator experience

Krisztina Barta

“Watching the snow fall from the warmth of the cabin, with the fire crackling beside us, felt almost unreal. Even our cat seemed completely at home, happily exploring every corner of the space. Sharing local food by candlelight, grilling on the snowy balcony, and ending the evening with a raclette dinner created the kind of cosy memories that only a place like Nutchel Alsace can offer.”
